Upcoming Fundraisers

While I am trying to get my thoughts together for a post I really want to but don't know quite how to write, here is some info on what is brewing on the fundraising front here.
If you have any other fundraising ideas, let me know!

Our final Garage Sale will be September 10 & 11 during the City Wide Garage Sale.

We need to raise $2650 for our Home Study before we can begin the visits with our Social Worker.

If you would like to donate items, they would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to come early and help set up Friday Morning or Saturday Morning, that would be very helpful!
You can email me at jbrickerphoto@hotmail.com or call me or let me know on Facebook.

Also, our Kickball Tournament is tentatively scheduled for October 9 at the Bricker's/Hausmann's
If you would like to get on a team, or be a Team Captain and get together about 9 people for a team, let me know. Cost for each player will be $10.

State Fair Part 3... and the answer

Sorry this wasn't up earlier,Our internet was out and I am sick yet again. So here it is finally, the final segment of our trip...

Concentrate...concentrate...don't blink!
See, Queenie has the right idea, just needs something a little more indestructable...
This thing was really cool, lots of balls and things whirling and zinging around.
(creepy British Accent) "But Mum, I am your daughter..." does anyone remember that movie?

Just before we left, we stopped in a nice shady place and had some funnel cakes.

and burned off some energy.

"Here mama, this piece is yummy, you can have it."

Everybody gets some.

"What kind of shoe hitches a ride?"
>>>>>>>

A Loafer!
Ba-da-ching!
Hahaha get it? Because its lazy? And it loafs around?

Sorry if you were anticipating something better than that.
Thanks for spending our day with us! Now who's ready for a nap?

Conversations With Ethan

I know you all are looking forward to the last segment of our day at the State Fair, but I am going to make you wait. Are you wondering about the boot thing? I probably should have phrased it better, like,
" What kind of shoe hitches a ride?"
Does that help?

Think about it, and I will tell you the answer tomorrow.

But for today, another installment of
Conversations with Ethan...

Ethan: "Mom if a girl had a baby, and she got struck by lightning, would the baby get struck by lightning too?"
Me:"Oh man I don't know. Maybe. What do you think?"
Ethan:"Yeah I think it would. Because if they were out of her tummy-if they were BOTH out the mommy's tummy, and they were by a window, they would probably both get struck by lightning and that would be bad."

State Fair Pt 2

Here we go with part 2 of our grand adventure...

Monkey see..

Monkey do!

Footprints in the Sand.

Have you ever read that poem?
Kinda sad.

Turkey feet.

There. Now everytime you see that poem on a cute little bookmark with that sweet little set of footprints alongside the ocean, you will think of turkey footprints and it won't make you sad.
Hey, Jesus loves Turkeys too.
You can thank me later, when you are not sad because you are happy thinking about Turkey feet.
Things I Love About This Picture:
A. Alyssa's expression- "Typical Boy" she must have been thinking, because Ethan had just said, "Hey Aunt Alyssa, I just tootered!" I bet her girls never say stuff like that.
2.Olivia whacking her dear little sister in the face
3. Drue whispering some sweet nothing into Matthew's ear
4.Charlotte still has her kid leash on. No kidding- those things are great, and the kids love them. Win-win.
See? who doesn't love being strapped to a stuffed animal?
No one.

Peek a boo.

I see you.

So I went to sit down on one of the benches and rest a minute and wait for everyone to catch up.
And I saw this creepy guy staring at me, trying to be all non-chalant and stealth.
Just all like, "Oh, hmm, I'll just rest my hand here and hmm, I'll just put the other one...oh casually here at my side. Maybe she won't notice me."
He was looking directly at me. You can't tell in the picture, but he was. It was just weird.
Oh to be a baby again...

Look at this handsome fella. He's ready for work.

***
This boot was made for ridin'
and that's just what it'll do
one of these days this boot is gonna ride right over you.

Here's a little brain teaser to be thinking about for tomorrow. If anyone guesses it, I will give you a special prize.

Not really. But you will feel smart.

Ready?
What kind of shoe is in the above picture?

And don't say boot.
Yes, technically, it is a boot. But that's not the answer. Use your noodle...

State Fair Part 1

On Thursday the Brickers went to the Fair.
2 double strollers and 2 kid leashes seemed sufficient enough to wrangle the little monkeys in. I thought we had alot of kids, but then I saw a group of 2 moms and 13 kids.
Mad golf skilz right there.
Me: "Hey Ethan, look at that big radio over there!"
Ethan: "Where?"
Me:(Pointing) "Right there!"
Ethan: (Intently searching in the right direction)"Hmmm...Where?"
Me:"Never mind..."
What is the matter with kids these days? If it was a giant ipod, he would see it, or a cell phone.
There was a man there who is like, the strongest man in America or something. He bent all these things. He also pulled a train and a semi truck with his mouth. (Not at the same time) Which got me thinking- I wonder how many diapers he's ever changed?
"Honey, will you please change little Joey's diaper for me while I cook dinner?"
"Aw honey doodles, I would, you know I would, but man, I just pulled a whole train today and I'm just plumb tuckered out! You understand, right schnukums?"
I wonder the kind of things he gets out of.
"Sweetie Pie, I just can't take out the trash tonight, My arm is just so sore from bending crowbars all day. Could you do it for me? And while you're at it, could you bring me the remote and a pillow?"
Baby Ellie makes an appearance.

Why is it that with all the cool barnyard animals, the kids are the most excited about the cats?
Yikes. Poor Mama.
"Are ya achin'? yep yep yep
For some bacon? yep yep yep
He's a big pig! yep yep
You can be a big pig too! Oi!
25 bonus points if you can name that movie...
I have a shirt that looks just like this.
Carpooling
What a cutie. I felt like I was at a used car lot as persistent as the young lady who owned this rabbit was about naming off its finer qualities. She was just a hare too annoying for me.

3...2...
1
Bug bites.
I know you were wondering.
Watching the jumping and swimming dog show.
I'm sure it has a more catchy name, but it is pretty fun to watch.

Liz said, "Jessie!Jessie! Here!"
I thought she wanted me to take a picture of how cute and snuggly Caden was being.
But really, she wanted me to take him because he was pulling out her hair.
First, butter the fries.
If a knife doesn't quite do the job, just dip the whole thing right in the tub.
Then, dip it into the barbeque sauce.
And enjoy!
Or you could just lick the butter right out of the tub.

There are so many things I could say about this picture...
***
And tune in tomorrow, when we find out who needed a nap the most...
